Disco3 Power
I have just had a test drive in a disco3. Very impressed. Only issue being lack of power. 190hp a little mean for such a heavy vehicle. What are the options regarding remap/chips? What are the implications for Warranty? Are there any systems that provide good results that can be removed easily for service? Are there any approved products. Can Economy be improved with any of the products available?

Have considered remap and Turbochip upgrade - but decided that I didn't want to spend that much extra on what was a sizeable chunk of cash on a vehicle.
TBH, a test drive is not enough time to understand the power delivery that the D3 has. Yes it can be a bit sluggish when pulling off, but you get used to it and compensate. I moved from a S type R to a D3 and I reallllllly noticed the difference .... but now I anticipate traffic movements a lot better and tend to drive more conservatively - but I know that if I put my foot down over 2000rpm she'll certainly shift.
Get yourself a D3, you won't look back.
Good luck.

I've a standard TDV6 with no chipwork done. It's fine.
Do remember that with 190bhp, you also have the torque. If you want quick get-aways on standard mapping, use Sport mode - seems to help with that initial lag.

Thanks for the thoughts so far. Nobody has mentioned economy. One of the benefits from a 'chipped' diesel that my wife runs is, or was a significant improvement in fuel consumption. Sadly the chip also made the clutch slip so it had to come off again. Has anyone any experience of such improvements with the TDV6?

Get the T/C, essential IMO. It does improve mpg slightly, with a unscientific guesstimate I get upto 2mpg more. On a motorway run it's possible to get 30mpg.
My overall average mpg is 27mpg, which includes a fair bit of slow urban driving commuting to my office as well as m/way. That's driving normally to fast. If I dolly around, I can get these figures higher. High speed cruising (90mph+) where legal of course will result in much lower mpg.
The mpg improved significantly after 10k miles, revs. better now as well.

Forgive me as this is the second occasion... T/C IMO??????Serial Depreciation Victim
DirtyDisco Don't waste time with anything else!!! If you want 240bhp, and 30mpg, then Turbochip it has to be. However, don't expect to use all those horses at the same time as expecting the frugal economy
To be fair to our 'other' sponsors, I think it is appropriate to say that JE Engineering also offer what amounts to the same result in a different wrapping (though I have no knowledge of their product).
I have had a TurobChip (re-map) from new, and I only discovered how slow the car actually was when it was 'enhanced' (and overwritten) by LR. Normal service has been resumed and I'm back to racing teenagers off the lights
