I didn't use any special tools when removing or refitting the torque converter or gearbox.
It's pretty straightforward as far as i can remember.
Hi mate.
Thanks for that. Good to know. Jarrod

Hi buddy
Glad it’s been useful info
At least ur be in the dry whilst working on the landy
Ref the air leak, suppose the first place would be to put it into off road height then pull fuse F26 and see which corner drops , measuring ur ur wheel height before and after
If u can’t find anything I ended up separating all the lines , capping them, installing a pressure gauge then putting a few psi and then having an isolating valve on that line and tuning it off, noting the pressure and see if it’s dropped hours later
Apologises can’t remember did u put a new air compressor in urs
I also used a vacuum gauge on the valve blocks after I had rebuilt them, they were letting by so I replaced all 3 x valve blocks / air tank
Indeed see what di dings u have after puling the fuse
Will find the gearbox I do out for u
Please let me know if I’m able to help with anything else but assume I won’t know what u need until u start again
Haven’t heard about that , ref the gearbox cooler
All the best mate
Hiya mate !
Thankyou for all the info mate ! I really can’t tell you how much I do appreciate it !
I put her back on the ramp today. I’ll be starting the strip out again tomorrow. Mikey has been in touch to say probably next week or so for his end so I’d better get my rear in gear !
I believe there’s a new compressor on mine, i’ll Have a look and take a photo etc.
I can’t seem to open the links you sent ref the gearbox but I think that’s maybe because I’m using my iPhone ?
Hope all is good mate.
Hi buddy
Blimey , nothing like a wet bank holiday
Please try the links again, should work ok
Did u manage to have time to pull the fuse F26 and leave overnight to see what dropped
If not with the body off at least u can put a bit of air in the system and bubble test everything
Know I had to mess around disconnecting pipes etc to finally find the leaks , similar to drop test on a gas pipe with appliances,
Good news ref the gearbox
All the best

Hiya mate,
No not yet, made a bit of a booboo, had to get the car back off the ramp, I need to take it over to the air con place to recover the gas, they will recover it for free and then only charge £20 to recharge it again after. Oh the joys.
I’ll pull that fuse when I get back and then I can have a look, it’s like you say, back out with the ldf ! Just like searching for a gas leak.
Will try hose links again.
Hope all is going well with yours mate ? Have you managed to find the drain ?Jarrod

Hiya mate,
Yeah probably would have done the same but it’s expensive to refil.
Gutted about the weather also, such a fantastic spring, soon as the kids finish school for the summer it went crap. Lol. Jarrod

Hi buddy
How’s ur day gone mate , got the body off yet
As a side note I managed to get myself a D4 steering wheel, am well pleased, got to modify it with some circuit boards but think it will be a great mod
Started on my battery drain again, haven’t found anything yet , going to make up some link wires so I can use a clamp meter for the J fuses

Hiya mate.
No not yet. Going to start tomorrow after work. Got a site full of H/A houses to do. Oh the joys. High and low valve’d rads.
D4 steering wheel ? I’ve missed this mod ? Didn’t know you could fit one to a D3 ?
Glad your getting back into it mate. I’m itching to get back on mine. I just want to go for a nice run with smooth quiet gearchanges without it going to limp. one day......

Hi buddy
There was me thinking u would have had it all ready to go
I will Have to buy some modified pcbs for the back of the steering wheel switches so it will then work with the D3s system , my steering wheel is worn on the left hand side and then saw this D4 mod so thought it would finish it off nicely , already fitted D4 wiper and lights stalks
Also need to buy the cruise control switch pack
Thks, determined to find this gremlins battery drain regardless how long it takes me , can’t have another winter like last year always worrying if having a flat battery
Will make the test leads up in the next few days and start testing again
Indeed bet ur be pleased once it’s all done

Hi mate
Indeed and looks like a nice weekend as well
Am well pleased with the new wheel
Going to concentrate on finding my battery drain first
Will then have to buy the modified circuit boards for the steering wheel and cruise control switch, but priority will be the parasitic drain
Has ur gearbox arrived now , good luck for the weekend mate and indeed please let us know how things go

Hi buddy
Yes , they use the same airbag , however on mine the airbag has slightly bent up so might get another airbag so it will sit nice and flush on the new steering wheel, will see first how it sits
Sad I know , but just like just right
u can just see it in the pic of my old wheel , at the top
Plus it looks like the D4 airbag is flat
So when I’ve finished will look like the last 2 x pics
