Disconnecting Battery

Just about to fit my steering wheel controls and was wondering if I have done enough in just disconecting the + Red cable from the battery. Have done that and just waiting for the car to go to sleep.

Hope this makes sence just dont want a face full of airbag.

Thanks in advance.

Andy

It's normal practice to take off the negative lead (as any short to the body with the spanner doesn't matter), but as long as you waited for the red EPB light

to go out before dropping the battery lead off, you will be fine Smile

Nooooo! Let it go to sleep BEFORE disconnecting the battery - as is shown pictorially adjacent to the battery.

Disconnecting the battery will send it to "sleep" immediately. The vehicle is clever, but it can't invent energy...

For what it's worth, when I upgraded my steering wheel, I 1st waited a few mins for the (p) park light to go off THEN disconnected the battery, waited 20mins and off I went..... Very Happy
