I’ve had a poke around my files for the front diff, the ‘description and operation’ section and ‘specifications’ section, and found some reference to the info you are looking for.

Ive checked the ‘specifications’ section and cannot find a torque value for the pinion nut.

I’m guessing you’ve read this thread?

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/front-diffe...60-75.html

Perhaps the guys who contributed to that , such as Bodsy and Disco_Mickey who are both quite active here, may be able to help.

Also find this thread on another site that talks of the experience, but doesn’t have a torque value. One guy there suggests counting the threads before taking the nut off so it goes back in exactly the same place.

https://www.landroversonly.com/forums/f41/...hed-55047/

Also, there’s a YouTube channel called ‘vehicle repairs toolbox videos’, and the guy there has done some stuff on setting up landrover differentials. Nothing specific to the disco 3 as far as I can see.

But he did do a vid with ‘Ashcroft transmissions’ so may be worth getting in touch with them to see if they have any info they can give.

So fits with the thread on the other site about ‘counting’ the bolt threads so nut in same place.

Doesn’t help that the workshop manual talks of a specified torque, then doesn’t list it
