Hi
Personally would first put a multimeter across ur new battery to check the Vdc along with checking ur battery lead terminals are clean and tight on the battery posts , always a good idea to fully charge a new battery before fitting
U should be looking for around 12.6 Vdc , if it’s below that give it a charge overnight and go from there as u can never rule out a new battery as it may have been sitting on the shelf for ages
Hope that helps a little

If you have a second key, try that as it may just be a key fob problem. If keys are okay then it maybe the lock mechanism cable.

There is a fuse fir the dash. 5A I think. Behind glovebox
The dash contains the imboliser, so it’s important it works and could be the problem.
Also inspect the large fuses under the bonnet. Look thru the top window and ensure metal is still present.
Also need to check you have power at the rear of ignition switch.

Thanks a lot for your reply
I check big fuses and in all there are visible two pieces of metal
Nothing broken I think
In the internal fuse box , the big one behind glove box I checked all fuses egarding to wiring diagramof the panel , 69, 44 ,38,39 all ok
Please specify where is the fuse you are refering to and please guide me to find the immobiliser module to checkif it is OK
THANKS IN ADVANCE

The imboliser is built into other existing parts.
Check the ignition switch has power. This is important if it’s not doing anything.
1 wire should be live all the time.
Most wires should be live when ignition on.
I’ll tell you some fuses in a few hours.

You can do it without removing the steering wheel as follows: ( Be careful of the b d clips flying out.!!
1. Remove trim panel below steering wheel.
2. Remove both small pieces of trim each side of wheel
3. Remove the two torx screws holding the cassete unit that allows the wheel adjustment.
4.Release the wheel adjuster
5. Carefully ease out the cassette unit at the top near the instrument cluster ( there are two locating lugs)
6. Now move cassette and wheel to allow access to the two large washered torx screws that hold the binacle ( cluster ) in place.
7. Carefully wiggle the cluster out ( bottom first is easiest)
Theres loads of length on the cable you might need to move the cassette and wheel about a bit.
Try fuses etc suggested previously first though1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !

Looking at the wiring diagrams. The ignition switch is powered from big fuse 11 under the bonnet.
Fuses 39 and 68 behind glovebox do the dash
