Discovery 4 Nav problems

Hi all,

We have had an issue with the Nav since the car went in for its service and first MOT in May this year. The problem has gradually become worse happening multiple times on a journey. The unit seems to cut out and do a mini reset regardless of what menu you have on the screen and always defaults to home. It was back at LR and had the software applied again with updates but it has made no difference.

I have uploaded a video to show the problem happening.

Any one had anything similar? it is starting to drive me insane!

Cheers

Seems very much like a complete power interuption looking at how the bluetooth phone has to do a search when it comes back on and it defaults to the home screen. I'd be looking for a loose power connection but that would mean some major removals. Does it do it if the car is not moving or without the engine running (no vibration)? If it doesn't that could also point towards a loose connection.

Thanks for the reply.

It has never done it when the engine isn't running but i don't tend to sit in the car when i'm not driving. The type of road surface doesn't seem to make any difference as i can be on the motorway or just sat stationary in traffic and it does it. It just appears to be totally random which makes it harder to pinpoint. I have extended LR warranty so it can keep going back until its fixed but i thought i'd ask on here to see if anyone had had similar. I suspect they will put a new module in at some point down the line when they have exhausted all other possibilities as i can't imagine a new uint being cheap.
