Discovery MY14 GS Front Bumper Replacement

Firstly what a great forum, perfect for the first time Discovery owner Very Happy

I have recently purchased a MY14 Discovery GS. Very happy with the car, but need some advice. A pair of Xenon Headlights has come my way and I understand, from existing forum posts, that the change from my Halogens is pretty straightforward once the CCF has been enabled with Xenon. No problem there....... however my GS front bumper does not have headlight washers. Anyone offer any advice - if I buy a new front bumper with washers and fog lights already attached will I be able to fit it. Is all the plumbing and motors already there for washers? If not is there a way to retrofit using my existing bumper.

Apologies if this is a bit of a noddy question.

thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Do you want washers, would be happy have mine turned off?
Not convinced that they do actually clean the Glass.

You will need all the plumbing,a different washer bottle, motor !
I fitted it all to mine(minus the bottle ) when I had the bumper off, I then rebuilt it!
Only to realise I needed a different bottle and would need to take the bumper back off so I never bothered Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the quick replies gents. Unfortunately washers are a prerequisite for Xenon's, so unless I keep my old halogens and replace before any MOT would need to install them. Really I would like to be "road legal" where possible.

Sharkysharks - I presume I could buy all the component parts, but how easy / difficult is it all to install? Do you know of any independents that would do this work?

You can buy all the bits from any dealer and do it yourself it's not hard Thumbs Up

One tip though order extra plastic inner wing and wheel arch clips just in case you lose or break a few Whistle

great thanks.

As I understand it MOT regs mean if Xenon's are installed you need washers.

Not sure what the Disco 4 output for Xenons is but washers only have to be fitted when more than 2000 lumens is output on the low beam only.

Sharkysharks - I don't suppose you have a list of parts I would need before I go and confuse my local dealer Smile

I did in my D3, I guess it's the same, you need a water pump and electrical connector to drive washers, washers, bottle of water having a housing for extra pump (in the D3 you can modify existing because it has a shoulder where it would be housed imagine in the D4 is the same), and connecting hoses to transport water and think nothing more. Modify the defense to put the washers and After activating the system.

Have seen it where they say it states if fitted must work.
But if its not fitted it cannot work.

Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system. Where such systems are fitted, they must work; however, it is accepted that it may not be possible to readily determine the functioning of self levelling systems. In such cases, the benefit of the doubt must be given".

thanks gents, appreciate the input. Will speak to my local MOT centre and see if I can get a definitive answer before jumping in with a washer refit
