where's all the positive posts though, your all making me wonder when my D4 is going to explode, and get carted home in bits ready for the big bills to come in.

What have I done Big Cry

Obviously I'm having a bit of fun here but lets get the positive posts rolling in guys Very Happy

Ah, the naivety of Disco Youth. You’ll get as cynical as the rest of us, just give it time. And money. Laughing Laughing

I suppose those who have positive experiences are just out there enjoying the great life with these vehicles. I could sit and write for hours about how my D4 (and previous D3) are the best all round vehicles, how I still look back at it when walking away, how I love to load it up at the weekends with family, surf gear, camping gear, DIY crap, anything that needs doing, the Disco will do it.

Knowing when the weather is against us, the Disco is there to go through it.

Have done a couple of hundred thousand miles in my D3 and 2 D4's (same again in previous D1 and D2's) and the only time I ever could not complete my journey was last week when the rotary gear selector failed (and replaced under warranty, I should have got it done as preventative maintenance once I had a couple of mini seizes, so that one is on me).

Like the majority of vehicles, once maintained and looked after, these things are brilliant.

Well, on a positive note, ours started this morning, so I moved it out of the garage and gave it a wash! Whistle

I’ve very positive about Disco 3/4 ownership, or lack of it it after 30(ish) years. My bank account is most definitely very positive. Whistle Whistle

Like most things, people like to moan and complain, for the many tens of thousands of land Rover cars out there, I would say the majority behave themselves.

My personal view is, my Disco 4 Commercial is the best towing vehicle I have ever owned, the little extra it may cost over anything else to maintain is small beer when it's towing capabilities are used on a daily basis.

We’ve had our D3 for three years now, it’s done 170000 miles and has run brilliantly for us.
At least when something does go wrong you will already have a fair idea of what it is from reading this forum. Don’t worry, just enjoy.

I love my Discovery 3 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I treat her like a new Girlfriend, stroking her when I pass and showering her with gifts, I’ve bought her new tires, 2 new alternators, new battery, new upper and lower arms, new brakes, spotlights, the list goes on..I even paid to have her face done (new grill and lights detango) ..surely this is a sign of love Bow down

Lot of love out there.
It’s the best and nicest car I’ve owned, if it goes wrong, I’ll get it fixed somehow.

I positively love the hassle free ownership of my XC90. Mr. Green

However, I do miss the Old Bus. Sad 14 years and 230,000 miles in the most stupidly reliable car ever, that took my family on so many adventures and worked hard for a living. I keep thinking I should buy it back.

Don't miss my D4 though. Confused

Same here, I miss my D3, may she Rust in Pieces, but never bonded with my D4. Had many fantastic adventures in the D3 and she even died in a place that was nice and safe, with a good mobile signal. The later is important when the car’s engine has just eaten its own innards.

My last sight of her as I headed home with a car full of stripped stuff, only 2,300 miles to go with my driver’s seat fully forward. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

We just sit back here in total contentment watching all these others/newbies/knuckle draggers who’ve just bought cheap/old/high mileage/non maintained Discos which are now giving them issues.
