Dismantling park brake handle
Some of you on the last Peak trip will remember on the Bamford Hill Climb I managed to flood bits of my centre console with Lemon Fanta from a just-opened-can sat in one of the cupholders.
Trouble is, even though I mopped up as much as I could at the time, my Park Brake Switch is slowly but surely gunging up. Its obviously got sticky stuff all around the hinge mechanism and I need to take it apart to clean it all out.

I have not taken the handle off, but I did prise off the plastic cover to pull the emergency release cable in Salisbury. It probably clips together, I think there is a single screw in the base of the recess to remove the handle unit.
Don't you know how bad that Fanta is for you! if it can stuff your park brake, imagine what its doing to your insides

I think you then slide it back and lift up and then remove the connector.

thare is just one screw in the bottom of it, remove the screw lift it out unplug the switch. take the plastic operating handel off it and dunk the whole thing in IPA for the night, in the morning give it a good swish around and dry with a hairdryer on cold.
that should fix it, if it dosent, a new one is only a few quid.CLUB "Ah Shor it'll be grand"
