Hi all I have a strange one (no comments please), I have had a couple of brake light bulbs fail on the nearside and again today noticed that again I have a bulb out.
Off I went to Halfords to get yet more bulbs to keep me legal, upon taking off the lense as before and replacing the bulb I was more than suprised to see it still was nolt working.
I checked the bulb I just removed and sure enough it was fine yet no brake light is working.
The side light part of the bulb is fine as is all the other brake lights but the nearside brake doesn't.
Any ideas, as I have checked wires around the light and this all seems to be fine.
Not really wanting to go to Westover due to the poor service they tend to give unless you are buying are car of course and also that it means a day wasted and £20 in fuel.
This is quite urgent as I go away in a week on hols and need to be sure it is sorted before I go.
Cheers.

Have had similar problems with breaklight bulbs going for a past time. Was Halfords best customer for a while. Eventually caused all sorts of chaos with electronics on the car, suspension etc - even managed to switch off and remove ignition key with engine still running!!! After calling LRA out to the problem was advised to stop buying Halfords bulbs and go straight to the nearest LR dealer. Never looked back. Dead cheap and no problems since.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I have purchased the dearest bulbs I could find but the new bulb doesn't even work, well the brake part doesn't anyway.
Have to give LR a call.
Cheers.

Hi again,
Big lesson learnt!!!!
DONT try and change a bulb in the dark, yes you have guessed it, I fitted the new bulb into the wrong fitting, took a look this morning before going to work and realized my silly mistake hey presto all is fine.
Am I ever glad I didn't go the LR what a charlie I would have looked.
Cheers.
