What have I done.

Hi all, just bought another 2005 D3 for £1500. She runs but has a few faults on her. Picking her later so will get my iid tool at the ready. Engine sounds sweet and she is a fully loaded HSE so worst case scenario my D3 S will be upgraded. Cheers.
 Cheers

Well cleared all faults on the way home and checked again when I got here:

VIN: SALLAAA136A352883
L319 - Discovery 3 2006
Vehicle scanned on 28-08-2020 14:52
Using IIDTool BT V3.0 B2481

Audio System

B1D79-01 (2B) Microphone input - General failure information - general electrical failure
( at 120628 mi )
Body Control

B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open
( at 2398 mi )
Engine TDV6

U0138-00 (2F) Lost communication with all terrain control module
Suspension

U1A13-87 (2F) Lost communication with all terrain control module - Bus signal/message failure - missing a message
( at 120628 mi )
Transfer Case

U0138-86 (2F) Lost communication with all terrain control module - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
( at 120628 mi )
Ventilation

B1B78-84 (2F) System pressure - Bus signal/message failure - signal is below allowable range
( at 120628 mi )

I knew there was a suspension issue and I can hear a hiss from the front near side so probably the airbag needs replacing. Not long after pulling off I get HDC fault and the All Terrain is off line from the get go. Could the suspension issue cause the faults I am experiencing or would it be a couple of issues? Thanks for any pointers. Cheers.
 Cheers

I bought an immaculate 2006 2.7L TDV6 HSE last week. It’s my first Land Rover and also my first real 4X4.
I’ve tried a little bit of light off roading and immediately fallen in love with it and I can’t wait to take it further.
Unfortunately, like yours, mine also has a fault with the NSF airbag. It’s only an intermittent fault at the moment but I’ve found someone that’s breaking a Disco and has both front airbags for £100.
Do you think replacing the bag will solve the issue?

Hi, a little update. I managed to cure the All Terrain fault by replacing the centre control console. I now have All Terrain. Well chuffed as it was a £50 fix. On mine I can hear hissing from under the passenger door so suspect the reservoir is goosed so have ordered a nearly new £50 replacement. I will update following the installation as the pump runs but it cannot get to the required pressure hence the bong. In response to your question I would go new if you are going to keep yours for a few years. I am sure I read on here somewhere and they were in the £220 area? Cheers.
 Cheers

I thought for the cost of it the lump on its own has got to be worth £1.5k so I could get a free leather upgrade etc but spending time with her I have taken a liking. The only thing is she is on 120k and the belts have not been done so if I keep her she is going to cost. She ain’t pretty but the interior and extras are way better than my Disco 3 S. Going to get my indie to look at her for a second opinion on the mechanicals and go from there. Cheers. Thumbs Up

Indeed, have been quoted £1100 for the lot by a garage I trust. Front, back, oil pump and runners. I know it is not an easy job and I don’t fancy doing it myself outside my house. Cheers.

Latest faults which I have been working through:

VIN: SALLAAA136A352883
L319 - Discovery 3 2006
Vehicle scanned on 20-09-2020 12:30
Using IIDTool BT V3.0 B2712

Audio System

B1D79-01 (2B) Microphone input - General failure information - general electrical failure
( at 120656 mi )
Body Control

B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open
( at 2398 mi )
Engine TDV6

P0405-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor A - circuit low
P140A-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit low
Transfer Case

P1807-00 (2F) Four-wheel drive high ratio - short circuit to ground
( at 120656 mi )
Vehicle Dynamic

C1B00-64 (0B) Steering angle sensor - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure
( at 120656 mi )
Ventilation

B1B78-84 (2F) System pressure - Bus signal/message failure - signal is below allowable range
( at 120656 mi )

Managed to clear the steering angle sensor fault by recalibration using the iid tool. The dash stayed clear whilst going for a short drive. Hooray.! I believe the Ventilation system pressure fault is down to the aircon needing recharging. Not too sure on the others but will dig around to find out. Cheers.
