Not quite in same league as DiscoStu (although being a 2011 vehicle mine was already 21st Century )...
MoT ... passed with advisories about front bushes "degraded but not affecting anything but we thought we'd justify what we charged" ( I paraphrase ever so slightly )
Nextbase 312GW from Halfords ... Trade Card doesn't work for technology stuff and they didn't
let me haggle either.
and today I replaced the headlamp bulb that blew post MoT … at least it was after! going off these Japanese High Performance Ultra-White things.
These ones were allegedly "more than double output of 55W" but having put back the E-marked 55W one (swapped it out after it's twin literally exploded), I'm struggling to spot the higher output one.
Shame about the new MoT rules … I was going to look at retro-fitting HIDs. Obviously can't do that if sticker on the headlamp unit says "halogen". Pity these stickers stay attached.

Today The disco has developed a rather exciting crunching/vibrating/knocking noise when pulling away or slowing down! No idea what it could be so will have to get my torch out and have a poke about!

Found the cause of the vibration and banging.... Looks like the prop shaft centre bearing has failed

I’ve averaged 21.35mpg over the last three months from the 5 litre. And that’s measured on actual, not the dash computer.
Pretty pleased with that, as that includes city running and an alpine pass!
Definitely uses less fuel than the Rover V8 in my other Discos. King of the typo.
MY11 D4 5.0 V8, Bournville, lots of goodies!
Now departed: '85 RR Vogue, '94 D1, '95 D1, '70 SIIA, '97 D1, '04 D2a. All V8, except for the SIIA - but that drank as much petrol anyway!

Spoke to Mikey in Dundee and got my local garage to read the fault codes in an effort to get rid of the red air bag warning light. Mike was spot on with his assessment of where the fault was. Lost communication due to an unhealthy charged battery. The offending light extinguished and me one happy camper. A result. Didn’t cost a penny!Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

Kept having issues with battery going flat. Iid would show voltage at 13v mostly while running and battery wouldn’t charge over 12.1v on ctek mxs5. Eurocarparts said battery ok but thought I’d change it at same time anyway.
This time I was better prepared for the viscous fan with a proper tool to hold the pulley, was still a swine to get off.
And the previous owner bodges appeared again, the alternator battery cable prongs were bent and wouldn’t fit in the new one until straightened. And the red boot is missing, is it essential and can they be purchased?
Anyway all back together and fired up, iid showing the new battery at 12.1 even though charged overnight, and with the engine running 13.6. Not as high as I was expecting >.<
