Finally fitted the gearbox guard to Dennis. Bought it months ago and it didn’t fit and never had enough time in a single slot to mess with it but after pre-fab big some brackets and moving the holes, it’s finally gone on

Gave my wheels a good wash and then buffed up with some PoorBoys "natty's blue paste wax".
Then [after washing] gave my AT3s [& Defenderesque bonnet panels] a good brushing of Gyeon Q2 tyre serum.
The rubber bits have never had any treatment for the last two years, so well overdue some !!
It's brilliant stuff, "paint" the blue serum on, leave it overnight to soak in, then the following day buff up to a nice satin finish.
[might even do a sample test on the plastic wheel arches & lower trim]

Sooked about 3l of water out of passenger side cable sill tray, front passenger footwell foam etc. with the trusty old vax.
Slowly poured about 20l of water, tactically, over the sunroof and windscreen on the passenger side, while peering under the carpets, found a drip.
Ran a bead of gutter sealant over the top of the scuttle and shaped it nicely, watched for a drip for another 10 minutes (no drip) and parked a dehumidifier in there for the next couple of days.
I thought it was the common A pillar drip but I put new clips on a couple of weeks ago and hasn’t fixed it. Hoping my gutter sealant bodge will hold up for the winter.
Now I’m waiting for my new alternator to arrive…. D3 HSE - MY05 - Java black

Fitted a new alternator! First time spannering the front of the engine (I’m usually on top playing with injectors ) and needing to take the viscous fan off etc.

Big milestone
I drove my 06 D3 past 100000 miles today. 16 years in my care since new. The longest time I have owned a car. It has never let me down, never failed to start, never broken down and has given me a huge amount of fun. It will be a sad day when I have to sell it to avoid the ULEZ expansion to my suburb.

I'm betting that yours has seen some nicer scenery in Argyllshire than mine! I hadn't spotted the posts landmark. Well done.

Crikey! you could have driven to the moon already on that mileage ! (238,855 miles) Although I suspect that the AA would take a while to respond if you did have issues I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Busy day today on the D4.
As a mark of respect to our dear departed HRH, I added some purple detail to my existing decals.
[to be removed once the mourning time elapses]

Bought a roll of deadening carpet at the LRO show at the weekend.
Cut out three different panels and fitted to my internal glass roof sections.
Also made a cover to blank off the sunroof switches.

Oh and fitted my new Bushranger awning.

Not everyone’s cup of tea, but just picked up my Brembo 6 pot calipers after being refurbished and painted by BCS.

One new bulb for the rear lights, five squirts of WD40 on the hinge for the RH side wing mirror, and Bob's your uncle. Two minor faults rectified that have been annoying me for a few months.

Big service today. Changed engine oil, cabin filter, air filter and the oil for the autobox.
Pumped out 2x4 litres, oil was filthy and done! I'll get another few litres and repeat the process in spring time.
Plus, found that the brake hoses will have to be replaced before long, and that the leaking middle pipes for the AC will be a doddle to replace. Never a dull moment with the Disco
