Due to the numpties who fitted my screen I was greeted by a swimming pool in the passenger foot well this morning so the very badly fitted scuttle panel and the A Pilar trims were removed, new sealing tape applied and re fitted all nice and tight and what whilst the scuttle panel was off it was painted with wheel black so look the dogs nuts now I also added a cowell to help stop water entering via the fan housingRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

OK, a couple of days late but she passed the MOT
However there were 6 advisories
How the hell do you guys get none??
OK, schoolboy error, didn't put the rear seats up so seats belts couldn't be fully inspected.
Front and rear number plates in poor condition - easily fixable.
Engine covers fitted restricting view - WTF?
Nail in front nearside tyre
Clean emissions test - possible 2SO assistance
Possible fuel leak advise inspection Read my earlier post in this tread regarding the trouble my brother and I had getting fuel into the new filter.
Hopefully, I've now got some breathing space to enjoy the vehicle.

Changed the n/s rear door lock. The other side is playing up now that its got colder.
Thanks for DM's write up on here. As I had a complete brain fart once the trim and window was removed as I couldn't remember how to remove the door handle.

Fitted a replacement upper tailgate switch as mine was intermittent then stopped working completely. Then had to un-fit it and remove the entire tailgate handle and rebuilt the small harness that goes from the switch aperture through to the tailgate itself as one of the tiny wires had obviously broken. Put it all back together and all now working again.

My D3 failed its MOT last week,(for the first time, nearly 12 yrs old)... excessive play in front lower arm rear bushes. TBH it wasn't a surprise, as they had been knocking for the last 2 MOT's, but nothing was advised, so I left them alone until now. So I spent most of this weekend removing the old lower arms and then fitting a pair of AF arms with RRS bushes. I was lucky, I didn't have to cut any bolts, and the driveshafts shifted after a bit of persuasion Drove it this afternoon, not too bad considering I just marked the old bolt cam washer positions and fitted the new ones as near to that as possible, and no xmas tree lights, but obviously now need to get the alignment done ASAP, and a free retest. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

I did feel like I was Ed China after managing to get it all working with a £6.99 switch, some spare wire and a bit of solder
And like Wheeler Dealers they never take into account the hours of time either D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Picked up the Disco from Mastora in Alnwick after a successful Warranty Direct claim for a failed turbo and cross over pipe.
Didn't think that WD would cover the X-over pipe but they did. Mind you they did faff about to ridiculous levels while trying to decide whether or not to cover anything at all.
Still, I'm happy in the end as it would have been a huge bill if WD had not covered it.
And here is the huge hole in the X-over pipe. Huge noise for such a hole.

Well finally got round to fitting mudflaps all round, new rubber mats for all rows of seats ( thanks Dan at Duckworth's) and swapped my Roof Bars over from the old D3.
Nothing technical but good to get done.

Got a low battery warning for key fob when leaving Sainsbury's car park. Strange I just replaced the battery two weeks ago. Then realised SWMBO was sitting in the passenger seat. Tend not to be aware of her most times unless she speaks. Quick check showed it was her key fob. Just as well Duracell batteries come in pairs. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

Went to change the rear door lock on the driver's side. The supplied lock was for the near side so works aborted, lock reinserted / window clipped back in and tape over the missing door handle.
Will change it tomorrow morning before work assuming they have a RH version on the shelf.

Changed from Summer (Pirelli Scorpion Zeros) to Winter (Vredestein Wintrac) tyres. Thought it was about time as there have been several ground frosts now. Only 2.5 - 3mm left on the Zeros. I'll keep an eye open for good tyre deals in the next few months.D1 300Tdi - gone
