Door mirror - removing the glass ? |
|
Can this be done easily as I need to get behind the glass. I did this on my TD5 to fit some caravan towing mirrors.Quote: D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

This is tricky and most likely to end in tears IMHO.
The plastic frame the mirror clips to has a set of moulded clamps in a circle which form part of the frame and are hard to clip onto the electric motor let alone pull off.
The worst thing you could do is break the mirror and or plastic frame. So it might be a good idea to see that your dealer has the mirror/frame in stock before you attempt to pull it off.

Nick - try ebay - occasionally theres one/two on there that you could experiment on, before hacking your own to pieces

If fitting the glass is anything to go by - removing it in one piece will be nigh on impossible! Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"
