Door position on electrical failure |
|
Last Friday I had complete loss of electrics due to a duff alternator.
I was driving on an unlit country road at the time of the failure and lost everything including hazzards.
The front and rear doors all failed open, as I would expect but the boot failed shut. This was a tad annoying as hi-vis vests, warning triangle etc were all in the boot and I wanted to get them out as quick as possible but with a dog guard fitted, it was a bit of a struggle.
So....my question is, is this what you would expect to happen or should the boot have failed open too and if it does fail shut, is there a way to change this? nil admirari

Pat the doors are opened manually whereas the tailgate release is electronic ISTR Not ideal if you have a dog guard but I think those of us with them are in the minority TBH.
Did your battery warning light not come on? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
