door problem.

Just back from a weeks hols in spain and when i got back home the front passenger door will not open.
(when you push the open button on the key) all the other door open fine.

if you stand at the drivers door window and look at the inside opening handle on the passenger
door you can see that when you press the key the handle does not open (pop) out all the way.

It this just a bit of WD40 or do I have a problem .?

BarryG, I have had exactly the same problem - there are 3 possible causes: a faulty lock/latch, the electrinoc lock control module thingy, or the cable linkage.
Hope this helps.

I've had this (front passenger door). It was a faulty latch, didn't take them long to change it - once they'd ordered it in Rolling Eyes

I think trying to pull the unlock tab at the door handle while pressing the unlock button on the dash has solved this for a few people here. Takes a bit of messing around with to get it, but I think it works for some.

You can get the door open that way, but the problem will persist - its just a temporary measure.

I've just had to have a new latch on my passenger door because of this problem, agree with DiscoStu that the fix is only temporary.

Had driver's door sorted yesterday. Bit inconvenient when it locked me out at the weekend but an excellent valet yesterday made up for it.

My passenger door went within a week of owning the car (1 year old) and it was the cable, replaced by dealer.
