Doors won't lock

Hi

I wonder if anybody can help me out as our doors won't lock when the key fob is pressed it sounds like it's locking but the horn sounds when pressed as if one of the doors are still open . This has only started to happen but not every time I lock the car. I have also noticed that when driving the info on the dash states the drivers door is still open so it must be something to do with the drivers door sensor to tell if it's shut or not. I have had a look to see if I can find the sensor but I cannot see it. Does any body know what it looks like and where it is located . Model HSE 2006 thanks for any help on this matter in advance

Cheers Tony

I've had this - the long term fix is have the lock and possibly the wiring loom replaced.

In the interim I found that:

1. Spraying WD40 into the lock mechanism

2. Cleaning up the striker plate

3. 'Jiggling' the wiring loom between door and body (I know strange....)

Worked and cured the problem for me.
 I see no ships........
