when i had my defender i bought one of these:
http://www.mobilestoragesystems.fsnet.co.uk/store-drawer.htm

it was of excellent quality and really robust. i don't know if they make one for the D3 but it may be worth asking them.

Lee,

Give the cost of the runners on their own I might be interested, Does it cover the whole floor front to back and does it fill the width?

Basically I need it to be 1000mm square.

Sankey will follow at somepoint, I'm fairly sure, but a few things to do before I get to that.

Runners need to be about 900mm long and B&Q don't have anything that long

it's the OEM load space i.e it covers the entire boot area. Top bit of kit that supports about 150kg, it slides out to the "kick" in the lower tailgate if you know what I mean. I think they where about £400 when ordered from the dealer, I have two so I could let one go for the right dosh.

Stu, you see those green nesting ones on the right of that link, I have them at the moment.

Any harm in asking where you got 'em ??

I'm looking for just that type of box at the moment.

(That said though I would like Wolfe Boxes too 8) )

When I was looking for boxes I found these guys:

http://www.solentplastics.co.uk

They do the type of box you're looking for. They also do a zillion other boxes including some good looking heavy duty boxes

I'm also in the market for D3 rar store drawers. I l;ike the MSS way of doing things but they don't do a D3 specific version. When I spoke to them all they said was bring us your car and we'll make a D2 version fit. Not quite what I was after. If I'm spending a lot on a drawer system I want it to like it was designed for the car not a lash up of another varient.

So I have commissioned a fabricator (Read that as mate who can conjure marvels from metal) and we are in discussion over my design. Full width of door opening, 2 drawers with lock out sliders. Coming in at about 350-400 quid. And after seeing some of his other work it should look nice. If it does look a bit rough I can always cover in auto carpet.

That sounds like a reasonable price given the price of runners.

I think I will be going for some auto carpet - I assume that can easily be sourced?

The last lot of carpet I had to line the roof of my 90 came from e-bay. And not that expensive. The only colour they had was a grey so that's what was fitted. I think I would go for black/dark grey in the rear of the D3, to match the interior
