One comment did intrigue me. If I hear right the suggestion was you find fresh tracks in snow and not to follow existing tracks? Would the same apply on a motorway. For example would you be better of taking a quiet middle lane which has no tracks in it rather than the inside lane which is nose to tail with people following tracks? Assuming in this case you still drive with care, have GGS on and Winter tyres?
