Is my drive shaft inserted correctly?

It wants to go in in this position... one end removed from hub for hub change. Other side of car looks the same. Why would the toothed wheel be exposed?

Thanks!

Did you take the ABS sensor out before you removed the shaft?

That's not the ABS reluctor ring, that's the the CV gaitor clip. Thumbs Up

Yep that's the reluctor ring 👍looks right to me. Easy way to check is look through abs sensor hole.. If you see the 'ring' then it's on correctly.

Hi all

Yes that is what I was referring to. It was simply a case of it not looking right to me that got me worried. I was surprised to see that “reluctor ring” visible - looks like a dirt trap! I did remove the ABS sensor when I changed the hub.

So I guess that’s normal then! Thanks!

Just had to pull the shaft on my bmw... They are renowned for the reluctor ring (which is a ring and not a notched part of shaft) deforming and causing a high spot=rubbing through abs sensor. That too has the ring exposed at the bottom.. Can't understand it myself either 🤔🙈
