drivers door not unlocking

my drivers door has just started to 'not unlock' on first press on the fob. it operates normally on two presses i.e. unlocks all doors.

this has only started after i used the spare key for the first time.

its going in for some other warrant issues shortly but does anyone know if its a quick fix diy solution other than 'just press the fob twice' Rolling Eyes

Is this a behavior of the spare key or your original key?

Mine started doing the same thing recently, although now the weather is warmer it's getting slightly better. No difference between each key -I can only assume the drivers door is the first to fail as the mechanismgets the most abuse. I've read the latch replacement procedure (thanks to Wiggs) and would rather not go there! I just put up with pressing unlock twice for now.

I seem to have the opposite problem Confused When I lock the car all doors lock apart from the drivers!
Takes a few attempts at locking and unlocking to get it to lock
Quite funny late at night when each time I try the drivers door after locking the alarm sounds Embarassed
