I just like these lights, and fitting to the bottom rail on the D4 is much easier as its more substantial than the D3 was, so doesnt need reinforcing like the two D3's did

I like too. Makes Discos look like real landys.
BUT where on a 2012 Disco4 do I fit the switch as I dont like the idea of not being able to disable them.

I havnt - still old school, just triggered via relay of the main beam feed.
