Driving lights wiring error? |
|
Please can someone help with a possible problem. I have installed the Land Rover driving light kit.
In the instructions diagrams 60 and 61 it tells me to insert the red/brown and the red/orange into the grey
supplied plug red/orange into terminal one. red/brown into terminal 3. red/orange into terminal4 and red/brown into terminal 2 the other half of the grey plug already wired connects into the rear of the light switch diagram
58. but when I push the two halves together the red/orange is connected to the red/brown . I would have thought the colours would have followed through. All the lights work but the driving lights have yet to be enabled.
Please help.

Looking at the instructions ..you need to check pin 2 and 4 ....the colours you have put above are not correct ..they are the wrong way round G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Further to my original posting . The driving lights which I bought locally were Britpart OEM, which are the same as land rovers own but in a different box.
In the instructions it says insert red/orange in pin 4 and red/brown in pin 2. diagram 61.
But when I downloaded the land rover wiring instructions diagram it says red/brown into pin 4 and red/orange into
pin 2. diagram61 This is the correct way which wiggs pointed out. Thanks again wiggs.
I have contacted Britpart to tell them of the error in their wiring instructions.

Further to my earlier message . I have since found my dash lights and window switch lights have ceased working could that wiring error, "Britparts fault" have caused it . I have checked Fuses 39, 68,67 and under bonnet fuses
25 and fuse link 11 all o/k. Any Idea what the problem is.
It is going in ,in the morning to have the lights enabled, will see what they come up with. If it is anything to do with Britparts error they will be hearing from me.
