Brake light bulbs or brake light switch, could be steering angle sensor loose on bottom of steering column.
Do a hard reset with the Iid tool for starters. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

4.7.11 in the manual. Is this what you mean?

Yes! - it is easier than a conventional hard reset which you can alternatively do by disconnecting both battery terminals after the car has gone to sleep(wait until the park brake has gone out), cover the battery terminals with polythene or similar to prevent the leads touching them and then hold the car battery leads together for 5 seconds or more, a short piece of wire etc will be needed to do this. The clock will need setting after this is done, nothing else will be effected, this procedure removes any static electricity that maybe effecting the system.
Are you sure you have a well charged battery?- D3’s Must have a good battery as they can throw all sorts of faults after start up if not.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks, M3DPO
As you say the IId reset is a lot easier. I will put battery on charge first. It is less than a year old but the car has been sitting for weeks before a short trip to put tyres on. Will rule out the easiest and cheapest first.
Seeing the 15.1v on the screen is a first for me, a battery charge can't do any harm.

Put battery on charge fof 24hrs, made no difference.
I checked brake lights and one bulb out.........could this really cause these issues?
Still not sure which menu on the software gets me to the IID reset. A little nervous about resetting the wrong thing and not having any back up here in France. Screen print of menu would be most appreciated. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Replaced all four rear 21/5 w bulbs and no change.
Will try the IId reset tomorrow.
Is there a way of checking the brake light switch? Getting one here is not easy, whilst I am happy to buy one. It would be good if I could be sure rather than wait until it arrives. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Reset is last item under service.
No way of testing the switch, it is an item that many LR owners carry with them as they can fail at any time without warning.

Can I ask if the TCS is kicking in on general light driving, or when nailing it coming out of bends/Rbts? Depending on how heavy footed you are, a drain cover can easily cause the TCS to pop in for a second where traction is lost on a wheel. My D2 was particularly skippy.
Just asking as I don't think it's been mentioned...2011 MY D4 HSE

I couldn't drive 30 metres under 20 mph before it kicked in and it was savage.
Now it just drops the suspension and lights up with a fault as soon as I try to reverse out of my drive. This will happen within 20 metres. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Have read of this
The brake switch arrived and I fitted it today. Whilst under there I had a look at the steering sensor. I have attached a picture. I can wiggle the plastic around and stop it from turning when turning the steering wheel. So it must be broken or loose. I have had a look at the thread you posted above (thanks) but don't get what bit of plastic I glue to what.
Do I glue A to B or A to steering column or B to steering column.
Thank you in advance, trying to get sorted before our forecasted snow. B y thing .
