Rolling with laughter
Have we got a thread for that?

Belt and braces, I have glued plastic to shaft and foam to shaft. Copied this from another thread but used foam from a dewalt tstak box.
Waiting for it to dry and for me to calm down after fitting the new tailgate switch only to find it didn't work.

So not great.

Glued as per pictures. It spins with joint now and doesn't move on its own.

I then did the steering calibration. Which was easy.
Before with wheels straight. I used a string to get them in line as far as I could see.

After calibration.

I did a reset with the IID again easy.

And here is where it goes wrong.
All faults are now clear but on the test drive within 50 metres the righthand side DSC kicks in and same faults light up on dash.
I stop and clear faults again but the same happened again.

Fault code

There is only one fault related to steering now but what have I missed?

Edit
I have just check tyre pressures all are between 31 and 33 psi.
Fitted new brake light switch.
Changed all rear bulbs for new but not LR. I have now got LR bulbs if it is eorth trying.
End
Thank you in advance.

The code you reference ....

Have a read of this

https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/attac...1389629632

It’s a copy of an LR TSB that walks through how to troubleshoot multiple DTCs.

Seems to suggest that the code you are getting is unlikely to represent a hard fault, but symptomatic of something else?

Don’t know if this will help or not, but might be worth spending a few mins reading the whole TSB.

Btw, if that’s the only error code, what have you got your IIDtool set to report? As in pending or confirmed codes etc?

Might be worth expanding its reporting to included other error types to get m9re info if nothing else is showing up?

Cheers I will have a read. The steering sensor was spinning on the shaft so that was a fault.

There are no other faults other than.

Body Control

• B1B02-28 (2F) Low frequency coil - General signal failure - signal bias level is out of range/zero adjustment failure
( on 12-02-2018 07:03:20 at 208380 km )

• B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open
( on 12-02-2018 07:01:53 at 208380 km )

Engine TDV6

• P0405-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor A - circuit low

• P140A-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit low

Traffic Message

• B1A56-18 (2F) Antenna circuit - General electrical failure - circuit current below threshold

Which I understand not to be of concern ( but I might be wrong )

Cheers

This may explain why the error is being issued

Not sure if that helps you track down the issue or not.

Can you measure live inputs from wheel ABS sensors, yaw/lateral acceleration sensor and steering wheel angle sensor to see they all agree that 'straight' is 'straight?

If I understand things correctly, the ABS module will cross reference the four wheel speeds and yaw/lateral acceleration sensor to determine that the car is going straight at a speed between 12.5-15.6mph.

it will then check that the steering wheel angle sensor reads 0º +/- 15º

If it fails this check twice, then it throws a 'plausibility' error.

You should be able to monitor live values for all those items via the IID tool and record/graph them and cross reference the accuracy, or even perhaps track down which of the sensors is throwing out inaccurate values?

Disclaimer : I could have completely misinterpreted what I've been reading, and the whole lot could be Censored .

Not sure how to get live values on the IID, will have a look. Are you saying it might not be the steering angle sensor?

If I need one then fine but I have glued it and it appears to turn with the steering column. Which seems to have solved other people's issue. I am guessing I must have done something wrong.

Or I have more than one problem..........mutter mutter Evil or Very Mad

Saying I have no real idea of what I’m talking about, as no experience in this direction, but looking at the LR stuff I have, if you are still getting that C1B0064 error, then might want to keep looking.

As for IID logging live values, I’m assuming you bluetooth one, as that’s in your signature strip.

If so, when plugged in and connected, look for the “live values” section.

Think the values you want can be found under the “vehicle dynamics” section, but you may have to hunt through the settings to find the yaw/lateral accelerometer value.

Here’s one I did of ABS sensor speed per wheel, vehicle speed, and steering angle sensor position

So, you can do a lot with it beyond just scanning and clearing codes.

I’ve barely scratched the surface after nearly a year of having one.

Thanks, will have a play when I get time.

It is a right PITA, we are forecast snow end of the week and was trying to get sorted before then.

Parts diagram?

For what?

New.lrcat.com is probably the easiest way to find access to the LR electronic parts catalogue, but just be sure you triple check part numbers as some may have been superseded.

I tend to check on something like lrdirect or rimmerbros to see if the parts list newer parts.

I wanted to see if the sensor came with the ring that fits to the column. That was the part that slips out of position on the column. If I can buy that bit without the whole column then I might just order the parts.

I think this would be the page you are looking for

http://new.lrcat.com/#!/12128/40484/41185/3181/41186

Looking around and about, the steering angle sensor now comes as a separate piece to the column (used to be sold together), but the ring you are interested in comes with the column, not the sensor!

Ouch
