DVD/Monitor Suggestions

Right guys... I have an 05 S and it doesn't have any form of DVD installed. I have two kids who are at that stage of needing some additional entertainment over and above Dad's driving techniques Whistle

Headrest monitors are not an option (that I know of) and I don't think I can fit a roof mounted player due to the triple sunroof.

Any suggestions about what I could do? Local in-car entertainment store said someone had mounted monitors in the back of the seats... hmm. Bit of a bummer if I come to sell it in 6 months time if I did that though.

Saw some guy on here that mounted a monitor in the gap where the LR screen goes, but that would be a bit beyond my abilities I would think.

Any sensible suggestions welcomed.

Cheers,
LL

I bought a removable twin screen DVD player from Argos only £80 and can be moved in and out of the car as required. 10forCash will be able to give you a quote to fit twin headrest screens if you want them more permanently installed.
You might be able to get a rosen roof mounted DVD screen off eBay? Fits where the middle row lights are.

I have the sunroofs and an Alpine 10in screen mounted in liieu of the midle row interior light. The screen has its own lights wired into the std feed.

NO cutting of the headlining required and a very easy install and fully removable.

The DVD changer feeding it is under the centre 2nd row seat and the audio is either headfnes via the IR transmitter built into the screen or into the aux port and through the std speakers.

There is a thread with pics and more details.
 Cheers

What is the model number of your Alpine Simonsi?

I was trying to follow the thread in terms of the cabling that is present but was kinda getting lost.

Suffice to say, should I get all the things I needed and gave it to an Auto Electrical garage that carries out stuff like this, how long do you think it would take them to install?

Cheers,
LL

I used an Alpine PKG1000 monitor and feed it from a VEBA 6-disc DVD changer (region free so plays anything). I sourced the kit from www.caraudiosecurity.com, no connection other than satisfied custy...

Took me a couple of hours to install, maybe a bit far for 10forcash to travel???
 Cheers
