Dynamic Stability Question |
|
Lately I have had the AMBER DSC light flash on the dash, not the button, but the dash. It flashes momentarily when I give it a bit in a bend and then goes out. Only noticed this recently as its never happened before. I read the Handbook and it seems what I am experiencing is correct, but like I said, never had it before.
I checked the tyre pressures, and ALL ok, so really my question is probably reassurance, would it be the weight I am adding, cos its only started since I added the Dog Guard and Cage that could be causing the light to go off.
Cheers in advance

I seriously doubt the added weight of a dog guard would make any difference. its a drop in the ocean compared to the vehicles weight. Maybe it's kicking in because of the difference in the road conditions? 2014 D4 XS

Got to be honest, its only doing what the handbook says, but not driving it for an age, well since the guards were fitted its only just started flashing when I do give it some.
Probably nowt to worry about, but as its never done it before I related it to the weight of the guards weight hanging out back.
Tyre pressures are 38 all round, checked them today just incase, and running nice MTR's.
Cheers guys.

Cheers Ent, When I say I checked the pressures, I set the gauge to 38psi today AFTER, and hopefully that might put an end to it, not had it since but not done the route when it happens.
Set the tyres to 38psi as I read it here recently someone was running MTR's at that, and mine I know were 32 front and I did'nt look at the rears I just pumped them up without looking as the hose had to really stretch and maybe one was down a tad.

Nothing to worry about - just the traction control doing it's job and telling you when it's working. Mine flashes on wet, slippery roads when accelerating out of roundabouts and bends.

Just a long shot.. but could it be that when you added the dog guard you "injured" some of the wires running from the front to the back? or maybe when you turn the cage is it just hits some wire.. something similar happened to me when I had the LPG conversion done, the installer hitted the airbag wires on the passenger side with a screw and had to dismantle most of the interior to find this out.
I never saw that light come on or even flash even when pushing a bit harder..
