EGR fault codes

I've got a BAS box and remap on my 2005 D3, the box has read fault codes P140A, P140E, P140D x 2, looking at the DTC sheet these all relate to EGR faults, I have some blanking plates all ready to fit, if I follow the blanking procedure, will I be able to clear the codes (using the BAS box) and drive on as normal? I'm assuming the EGR blanking procedure just makes the valves redundant and clearing the codes will reset the ECU back to normal or will I still need to get a stealer to check over (or replace) the EGR valves?

I blanked off the EGR's at the weekend and tried to clear the DTC codes with no effect, so I have to assume that the EGR's are reporting faulty. I don't suffer with loss of performance or any other apparent symptoms so could I have got away with it? Is there any effect that the codes could have on the ECU or performance of the vehicle?

I could have answerd this is a email or pm lol

Anyway, here goes.

You have blanked the EGRs of mechanicly NOT electronicly so any electronic fault codes will always remain.
If the car drives ok and you have blanked the EGRs ignore the faults listed and carry on driving the car as normal. Stop worring Smile

The blanked EGRs will not affect the tuning nor will the fault code.

Pete

For info for all

P140A Exhaust gas recirculation sensor C - circuit low
P140D Exhaust gas recirculation control circuit B range/performance
P140E Exhaust gas recirculation position sensor C minimum/maximum stop performance

Pete, I realise I could have PM'd but thought that bringing some of this info out might be useful to others in a similar situation and that the tune won't be affected by fault codes.

So thanks for making it clear Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
