Already had 1 replaced now this evening my engine management comes on but allowes me to drive normaly for the 60 mile trip home. AA just been and advised although their error code didnt say it was the valve their technical centre said it is and i cant drive it, They want to tow it away and supply a hire car tomorrow. Problem is i have 400 miles to do tomorrow and an airport run Sunday so cant do without it . Last time it went the vehicle was slow on pick up this time no symptoms at all. Help.

The EGR valve is the only one reason that make the engine light on ??
My engine light is on but the car is fine , I replace one of the EGR . but the engine light is still on now .
I don know why . Is that really a problem for the Car or just a fool in the car computer???

Guy Salmon have just ordered a LHSide valve as i had the RH side one done 15k ago. They need to let the engine cool down for 1.5 hours and the job takes 1.5 to complete . I started my motor this morning and the light stayed extingushed for my hour long journey. Still no problem with the running of the engine. Just need it to stay like that till Sunday morning when i drop it at the Airport for the week . They are picking it up from the airport and returning it in time for the following Sunday. Even at their £75 PH i just dont know how your dealer came up with £400 Labour its outragous.

LR's garage are crazy , they told me the labour is 80 , not 75 ,and all the work need 3.5 hours (not both sides EGR. just one side!!!),so it is go to 280pound ,and then i need to pay 115pound for the check fees . all together 395 ... and the EGR is 146 pound ... so all I need to pay for change one EGR will be around 540 pound .

your in shropshire use Roean, they're a good bunch, years of experience with LRs and as far as I'm concerned as miles above the dealers in terms of proffesionalism, and customer service.
Speak them

However drive up from London have it done here and it'll probably still be cheaper
Yes someone outside the stealer network should be able to do it for you at a reasonable cost good hunting
