Emergency opening does work! |
|
Left the lights on all night, got to the car this morning and couldn't get in. I did try the manual opening, but no luck, I didn't know how to do it. Came here, read a few things.. and called LRA. Took them 10 minutes to get here with a booster. But to my surprise, even with the dead battery the manual unlock did work!! He twisted it left then right (he did it very fast, so I could not see exactly how to do it), and .. voilá car open, bonnet open and car running in 2 minutes.
Felt really stupid, because when he arrived and asked for the key I told him: "I've been reading a few things, I think you won't be in any luck with that..."
From now on I will live by these words: "In LRA we trust" and " Keep your mouth shut just this once"

I didn't think you needed any power to operate the emergency lock on the passenger door as its a mechanical operation using the key?

So you've read some posts that indicate the key could not be used to gain entry in the event the remote function doesn't work. Where are these posts and which muppet said it!!

The passenger door has a manual mechanical unlock/lock facility, however it quite often seizes up due to lack of use. Personally I unlock my car using the manual method every second Tuesday of each month, I find this keeps things loose In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

There is a post from me be unable to open the door.
XTC came up with a trick so I can open the doors an alternative way.
You just need a extension cable some small wires and a laptop charger.
And after a short while you can operate the remote again.
You want to know how?
