have been recommended this site for help. my husband has a discovery 3 which literally just died when he went over a speedbump. RAC came out and recovered him and gave faults as per attached uploaded doc. have now had several people look at it and no-one can say what the issue is. any help would be appreciated
thanks

Looking at that lot, Id suggest you stick a multimeter across your battery and start from there.
Has hallmarks of an alternator failure resulting in dead battery.

Many moons ago a workmate had the same in his mg midget..was a battery cable worn through and would hit chassis on a bump and cut out vehicle.
Ihad similar on my 101 would cut out on left corners..was a positive heater wire hitting shroud.
Have fun checking sourceIt is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Many of these codes may be historical, clearing them and seeing what remains/comes back gives a better indication.
My thinking is that if the fault occurred at same time as speed bump, I'd be looking at connections on the battery, earth straps etc
time consuming process but hopefully something simple

Does it crank?
Hi
Lady was on another site and asked a few questions , I suggested coming here and asking due to the extensive knowledge base
Here are some further details
OP Quote
“ called RAC out who came many hours later and did a diagnostic on it- the fault code F came up which i believe is transmission fault. RAC reckoned it was the TCM that was faulty. however we have now had 3 different mechanics look at it and none of them can get it going. One of them said the gear box will need to come out to change the TCM. can anyone advise please as dont really want to scrap it. any help, suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.”
“ Also reported the engine will crank but won’t start “
“ 140,000 miles / Auto “
“ Belts reported to have all been done, front and back “
Hope that may fill in a little more detail

What happens if you try and start it? Does it try and start, or no response to the key?
I can't see anything in the codes that would stop the D3 starting.
Not sure what happens regarding non-starting if a CAN bus wire is broken - their are many communication fault codes which *might* point at this.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Could an earth strap have come loose?
How fast were you going when you hit the speed bump!??
