I assume this means you have the key fob on your person, and not left inside the car? Else, if it works with the key left inside the car - surely anyone can open it, with our without the key.
This all seems a recipe for disaster to me. Still not sure why you would want to do this, unless you want to leave the car running securely outside your house or something.....

if you left the key inside the car, I don't think the keyless entry would work - need to check on that

Titanic was meant to be unsinkable - disasters do happen. LOL
By recipe for disaster, I meant that I can see people trying to see what they can do, ending up locking themselves out of a running car. If you leave the boot open, I am not sure what it matters if the car is open or locked. Maybe knowing what the OP was trying to achieve by doing this would help.
