Cut a 3 inch hole in mine a year or so back, oil changes are now a doddle.
To stop it making a potential mess screw up some blue roll and line the gap between the sump and the sump guard, undo plug and drain oil in literally minutes

Im sure if you off road seriously a bit more time would make the removed cut out swivel and lock into place with a bolt or two.

I've never needed anything on top of the trolley jack.

I put the saddle in the middle of the plate and find it balances pretty well.

Thks, knowing my luck would undo the bolts, thump Whistle

Thumbs Up Bow down Bow down

Many thks

Have u got 2 x plates there , there’s no plate under my gearbox and after seeing that pic I’m convinced mines missing , unless I haven’t looked properly

Will try and take a pic as at least now have a comparison

Looking at that I always thought the sump drain plug was nearer the front

Thks again Thumbs Up

Maybe I should get one of those under car trolleys , then have rope on the ends so I can winch myself in and out Whistle Whistle

Am still looking through the shed to try and find some tubing that will fit down the dip tube Laughing

Not sure what happens to the transmission shield - mine is missing it and the D4 I had was missing its own as well. I do have the radiator and engine shields. Updated part is LR031643 (it is a D4 part, the D3 parts have been superseded by it) if you need one.

Not 100 percent but think there are three in total, one under bumper, one under engine and one under gearbox

Gearbox ones tend to be plastic.

But if you don't have one it's one less thing you need to remove !

Many thks and will check that out , would rather have a plate there, was also wondering later on looking into some of the stronger protection plates , including the air compressor and air tank

When I do all the oils can then have a real good look of what’s there or not Thumbs Up

Thks again

Always trigger the alarms in airports , it’s seeing a great big heifer coming towards me whilst snapping on gloves that would really worry me Big Cry

So if the a hole is drilled in the plate and is not removed during oil change how do you tell if the sump pan is going porous..............which is not an uncommon issue?

Or do you just wait till it all spill out onto the deck?

Because all the other times you have had the sump off to drain the oil, you have wiped your oily hand around the sump to stop the rust as any caring owner would do as preventative maintainance, of cousre if you have never wiped it then you will have to remove the cover for one last time Thumbs Up

Make an offer ? 25 ?

Not as good as the origional. as it would of had actual metal on left, and sound proofing on rest.
Not worth that money
