EPB applied without disc on

So, mostly my own faulty cause I'd obviously pulled wrong fuse.

I have a 2.7d manual.

Held down EPB button whilst pulling key out because the car wouldn't go into service mode (for the life of me, I tried god knows how many times).

Anyway, turned off without EPB applying, and pulled, obviously the wrong, fuse.

I have just got one disc and shoes off one side, when my brother asks if he is okay to grab a CD out of the car with it on stands. I said yes as long as he is careful. What I didn't know is that he meant the one out of the player Shocked You know where this is going.....

Next thing, I hear the dreaded screeching cat noise as he takes the key out without holding down the EPB button and I die a little inside.

Now, I've had a quick look, and the EPB is not showing as on, I tried disengaging it, but it doesn't make a noise, and obviously I'm not going to try re-applying it to see what happens for fear of doing more damage. Again, I tried putting it into service mode, but no joy.

So....I've stopped doing anything for a second, to put this on here and see if there's anything I need to do, or check, before continuing.

My fear is that the EPB module might now be jammed inside the box, if its tried tightening fully with nothing to tighten onto?

Do I need to look at taking the EPB module off as well now, or just carry on with the rear brake change, and look to adjust everything once it's assembled and then again further down the line?

Bloody hell. I knew it. Right, onto that. Wondering if it's worth ordering a new set of cogs whilst I've got it all apart?
