EPB electrical failure.

The fault I have says General Electrical Failure and the EBP does not work.

I’ve check out the 5amp fuse in the glove compartment and it’s fine but there does not appear to be any voltage at the fuse. Ignition off

I’ve checked out the 30 amp fuse in the engine bay and it’s fine. 12.5v one side but weirdly 2.5v on the other.

Anyone suggest where I go next?

Steve

Faulty hand brake switch, just replace it, otherwise you're likely to be going on a pointless wild goose chase. Common enough problem and cheap to remedy. If the problem persists change the brake light switch, and if still no joy it's then time to break out the MM.

Both switches should always be in your spare parts emergency arsenal!! Thumbs Up

I'd replace that big fuse under the bonnet, if it is really reading 2.5v

Thanks Pete.

I do think that it's odd. The voltage was taken from the blades that the big fuse plugs into. ie the fuse was removed when I took the 2 voltages.

I'll see what the new switch does and go from there.

I don't mean to hijack a thread here but… what else should be in that arsenal? Asking for a friend Whistle

Err...An engine? Laughing

Apart from the two switches mentioned a decent quality diagnostic tool will be a Godsend when you need it! Thumbs Up
