EPB Emergency Release not there!

Assuming MY06 means Model Year 2006, then mine's an MY06.

My Manual says "lift out coin tray on opposite side of gear shift lever from the parkbrake. This reveals a stirrup cable end."

My problem is, it doesn't!

Underneath the rubbery coin tray there is a stiff plastic floor that clips down, underneath that there is nothing of any interest. I have peered around with a dentist's mirror (my finger is too big to feel around in there much) and I can't find a stirrup end, nor any other sort of end except a cable end plugged into a socket.

So where have they hidden it now, please?

Anyone know?

Its the other side (drivers side), directly behind the EPB switch. Small plastic cover that will easily pop off (pull where it meets EPB switch).

Look in toward the middle and you should see a loop.

Always been there.

Look at the picture in the manual. Text is wrong Wink Picture right.

Many thanks for this.

Good tip - if ambiguous ignore the text, no doubt written for the LH Drive model - just look more carefully at the pictures!

Ah, there it is! (Deep Throat, anyone?)

Many thanks!

P.S What a service! It might have been urgent and I couldn't have got a quicker response. Fortunately, perhaps, it's just that I heard a brief squeal when I moved off and thought I should just check that I knew what to do if it locked on.

Thanks again.

Its one thing knowing where it is...its a whole different problem getting enough purchase to pull it!!
you will need something that goes through eye that you can get a firm grip of with both hands & pull !!
And I mean PULL Thumbs Up

Wander around to the back of the car, get the jack tools out, pick up the handle with the half loop at one end and the screwdriver. Put the half loop through the emergency release cable, put the screwdriver through the other end of the halfloop handle (to make a "T") and voila, sorted. Thumbs Up
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Many thanks to you all.

A Boy Scout, me. Now I am all ready for the problem, maybe I won't get it!

Just need to hope we never need to do it on a busy road or it would be rather Embarassed , did happen to someone didn't it?

Just a thought, does it do any harm to do this, (just to try it under controlled conditions rather than first doing it under pressure) when there is no fault?
