EPB Light on Dashboard stays on when keys out of Ignition. |
|
Hi All,
Just noticed today when was getting something from the car that the EPB Red Light was on on the Dashboard, obviously car was in Park and had been parked up all night.
I started the car and The brake releases and applies as normal and the strange thing is the light Goes out when the engine is running and its been released as expected when i choose to drive.
Was wondering if anyone has had a same problem / experirence or is it nothing to worry about ??
A quick fix would be great as i dont fancy a LR job as its only just been serviced a month ago.
Thanks

I don't think it's a fault... it's a feature, the light stays on for a few seconds after you get out and lock the car.
Useful for forgetful people like me... If I can't remember whether I put on the brake I can just glance in window before going indoors.
Edit... Just read that you said 'after it's been parked up all night' Mine only stays on for a minute or so and stays off until I put keys back in ignition. As you slide down the banister of life

Maybe it's supposed to illuminate when you unlock the doors and wake the D3 up via the remote keyfob? 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

rig135 - I know that TawnyOwl and AVE have kindly checked that their EPB light doesn't come on when they unlock the D3, but can you check yours too tomorrow morning?

I noticed the other day that my EPB Red light was staying on after the car was all locked up.
I'm so sad that I timed it so I could post a question on here, but didn't get around to it.
The first time I tried it it went out after 4 mins 23 sec, and the second time it was sometime between 7 and 8 mins, not sure exactly as I'd given up and was mucking about with something else.

Just checked mine again, i noticed that as soon as i press the door unlock the EPB light come on in red on the dash..
Also have done a few timing runs for info..
1st & 2nd time just under 5 mins, after a day out yesterday it went off after about 40 seconds then this morning after school run about 5 mins again...
It must just be a timer...
