Have you guys seen the new magazine titled "Overland Journal"? It's based here out of the States, but it's all about vehicle dependant overlanding, all over the world. Fantastic articles about recent trips, vehicle preparation, and very frank non-commerical product reviews of conmon, but pricey items that most us need or could use, but hesitate to buy because of the cost. They recently did a nice review on a nice range of powered coolers.

Need some lights to cover the lovely holes in my g4 rack too. So four for the rack, and 2 to hang in the Abar. Any ideas on what to go for anyone?
Lightforce 140's work well 8) not too much spill and coloured covers available for that '70's disco look Laughing Laughing

Might want to grab a copy of Tom Sheppards, Vehicle Dependant expeditions a field guide. It can be had from the RGS for about 60 quid.

Spain 2005 Discovery 3 4.4 V8 HSE Auto Tangiers OrangeDiscovery 3

We pop over the Straights to Morocco 3 or 4 times a year. I have always travelled in a highly prepped Disco 1 but have just bought a D3 and am currently in the process of kitting it out for a trip in October and then a full-on Mauritania trip next March.

So far I have fitted, or in the process of fiting:

Tinted Windows (a must for the heat, privacy and looks)
LR Expedition rack & rear ladder (the only rack that looks right on the D3)
LR Raised Air Intake (tempted by the SAFARI one, but LR is more streamline)
LR light grilles Front & Rear (wont stop a stone smashing the lights but look aggresive)
LR Cargo barrier (great to tie things to and to seperate loads)
LR/ MANTEC Sumpguard (winch ready)
LR iPod kit (with 30GB Video iPod - CDs get ruined by desert dust)
LR after-market integrated hands-free kit (will save your life)
BRODIT mounts for iPod support and NOKIA N70 (Swedish quality clip-on mounts)
AFRICAN OUTBACK drawer system (Made to measure top quality)
2 extra 12v sockets
220V inverter
ENGEL 45l. Fridge/ Freezer (The single most important thing in the car!)
GARMIN 276C GPS (Loaded with Topographical Maps of North & West Africa)
27MHz CB Radio (For keeping in touch in a convoy - great for overtaking on mountain passes)

Things still to buy & fit before 12th October:

BF GOODRICH A/T tyres (x6) 265/65-18 US import only (I swear by BFG's)
VIAIR 450C Compressor kit (the best on the market - indespensible for sand driving)
WARN 9.5 Winch (The only homologated one for Spain/ Disco3)
UHF CB Radio (useful in Mauritania - 50km range)
RASTA underbody protection (rocky desert pistes kick up stones and ruin everything)
RASTA 110l. Auxilary tank (vital in Western Sahara & Mauritania)
RASTA Rear swing-away tyre mount (no-where to put spare once aux. tank is fitted)

Will post photos soon....
