Fake tools on Amazon
Getting more and more issues with Amazon of late, the latest being my order for a set callipers.
Ordered through prime and turned up next day, packaging and box fine but the item just didn't feel right (compared to my previous one I goosed). On closer inspection the wheel was skewed and looked poor in finnish and the precision seemed off giving a slight +/- when the jaws were zero'd repeatedly. I decided to ask for a replacement but they sent refund so ordered another through prime which came the next day (today) and before I posted the other set back. This set is clearly genuine and when comparing the two numerous slight differences including metal dressing, display and sticker quality are evident but the fake is pretty good and I would think many wouldn't notice if they hadn't already used the same genuine.
So, even though fulfilled through amazon prime it seems pot luck which sellers items you get and what you actually get.

Fulfilled by Amazon only means the seller stores their stuff in Amazon's warehouse, it's not sold BY Amazon, it's sold ON Amazon.
There's a lot of fake stuff all over Amazon (like there is on eBay), one way to steer clear is to buy FROM Amazon on Amazon.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Well spotted, getting to the point where it’s hard to trust anyone online anymore

... and Amazon Prime means nothing insofar as the goods are concerned - all it means is you pay upfront a lot of money to get permanent next day delivery (+ some film and kindle goodies that may or may not interest you).

Unfortunately, in our experience even that isn't true. Fake goods were being delivered by Amazon and on behalf of a marketplace seller. When we traced where the fake goods had come from it was from a single source suggesting that Amazon had been mixing their supplied goods with that of the marketplace seller.-------------------------------------------------------------------
