Favourite Colour Combination

I'm thinking of a buying a new D3 ( I also have a 92 V8 for weekends)

What colour combinations are your favourites and why ?
 Regards,

Alan

White outside (The scratches won't show and why pay extra if you plan some off-roading with it ?)
Beige inside (It does give some airy feeling to the inside and makes it less "stuffy"...)

But as we say in French "Les Goûts et les couleurs..." (Taste and color...) 8)

In my case I worked from the inside out! As there are only three interior colour options, it was quite easy to decide that first. My feeling is that black is rather too dark, and Alpaca is too light/rich and not very practical. That just leaves Tundra, which I really like.

Then it is a matter of deciding which exterior colours harmonise with the chosen interior, which will eliminate many of them, and choosing from those that remain. I ended up with Tonga Green, and I am still very pleased with the choice.

I hope that helps!

I decided on the Buckingham Blue. I was keen on the black until someone in the motoring press said it looked like a London Taxi Cab!!!

I plumped for the Ebony Black Leather interior, which does not mark like the lighter colours do. And also if you do get any scuffs, then shoe polish can camouflage it but remember to polish it out otherwise black polish on white skirts will get you in the dog-house! Crying or Very sad

The Buckingham Blue is as near to Black as blue can get but in the right light you can see that it is blue. What used to be called on some cars in the past 'midnight blue.'

When it is first cleaned it really shines!!! Wink

England 2010 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Bali BlueDiscovery 4

i went for java black as i dont think anything looks better (when its clean) with alpacca leather inside as this makes it lite and airy feels bigger inside the car i nearly had buckingham blue but my old td5 was dark blue so i changed for that reason.

cheers shawn

England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 3

I went for Buckingham Blue with Aplaca interior.

I felt that the Ebony interior, although easier to clean made it very dark inside.
Also my Freelander was Java black with a black interior so fancied a change.

With Buckingham blue I feel you get the best of 2 colours, it is blue in sunlight and black almost in all other lights

Gone but not forgotten !!!

United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

My last car was silver exterior (always looks clean) and grey leather interior (maks the interior feel airy) so I started out wanting silver exterior and a light interior, but then found tundra gave the car an odd "green/ yellow" ambience and alpacca didn't look right with silver to me.

I then looked at blue, green or grey exterior with alpacca, decided on grey exterior but noticed that every used alpacca or tundra interior I looked at was showing the dirt.

The black interior is more dark grey than black, and with the alpine roof isn't gloomy at all. Cloth Ebony is even ligher than the leather

So now I have a Bonnati Grey, Ebony leather.

I'm really pleased with the Ebony interior (first black interior I've ever had) and I like the look of the car in Bonatti Grey but it doesn't hide the dirt like silver and if I had to decide again it might well be silver.

Alveston Red is pretty good, with any interior colour. When I first saw an LR this colour it was a Range Rover, and that is a lot of red paint. But I went to see a used D3 last week in this colour and it looks pretty good. Also, I see on the LR site that there is a new red - Rimini.

Scotland 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 7 Seat Manual Buckingham BlueDiscovery 3

I love the Buckingham Blue colour- not quite black.

I know that black D3s are slated as 'metrocabs' but the same has been said of the RRs since they ended the 'classic' in early 1990s.

I still think the car looks good in Zambezi silver though- primarily since it doesn't show the dirt!

As for interiors, mine has the alpaca. Looks nice and bright inside, but the kids are forever getting it dirty. If I had the choice again I'd probably go for black.

I had silver to hide the dirt and Alpacca to look light. I know I'm going to upset people but black leather, black dash and black carpets is too much. I would have liked to see a greater choice of colours though, some greys would have been great, or even the blue that RR has with the parchment piping 8)
