U mean D3 ?

If warm up is quick when outside temp is below 5 deg C then yes.

They are always improving warm up times to help meet new emissions regs

A D2 is less efficient (as all older diesel designs/brands) therefore it generates more heat, so will warm up quicker than a more modern diesel (all modern brands) who are far more efficient and generate less heat... so if outside temp is lower than 7 or 6 or 5, (depending on brand engine) they need assistance from a FBH regarding facilitating inner temperature.....

Sorry..let me be more accurate.

My D2 is a y2k v8 manual. My D3 is a 07 2.7. My D2 warms up quicker than my D3 even tho my D3 have the FBH. Im confident theres nothing ‘broken’ or not working...was just wondering why?

Your trying to compare apples with oranges, petrol and diesel engines are always going to be different.

As Mo states the D3 engine is more efficient and produces less heat

Oh ok...so its down to the fuel. Didnt know that. So diesels take longer to warm up. Cheers. That explains it. Havnt had many diesels in the past so wasnt aware.

Diesels are currently about 45% efficient and petrol engines are about 35%
The more efficient an engine the more the energy is used to drive the vehicle and the less energy is wasted on noise and heat.
