Hi all, this sides forum is great.Right i have an 06rrs and decided to install the oval timer as per the excellent advice on here. Unfortunately as i have grown up in the motortrade and totally surrounded by motor trade family and friends i am never phased to pick up the tools and attack. I had a serious lack of cocentration and for some unknown reason i dropped the pin2 on the fbh straight to earth.WHY??I cant even say it was the voices this time.Anyway the wbus wire from the timer was right next to me at the fbh.Connected the wbus from timer, and then press flame button and the fbh clicks 2sec intervals but does not start up.Tried removing all 3plugs from fbh and leave 1hour but still the same.Fuse ok.Timer now removed, all plugs back in,minus4 outside and not working.
Is it locked out on main software? Will it reset at the dealers?Or is it doomed?

Shouldn't have done any harm.... can you hear the fan running in the FBH?
If the 'ticking' was initiated from the timer, it shows that the timer & FBH are still communicating, are you sure the ticking is coming from the FBH or is it from the FBH fuel pump?

I'm fairly sure that during my extensive investigations into getting the FBH to run, I tried earthing pin 2 (actually I sent a whole bundle of different voltages into it!). It didn't cause any issues.
Forgive me for asking the obvious, but are you sure it worked correctly before you started? Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

When mine faied a few weeks ago it would stat intermittantly, pretty soon the 3rd cinsecutive failed restart would lock it out but it would not reset even after being disconnected from power overnight. JE found a fault code for it stored on the car and cleared it. It then went through the same cycle of restarts until locked out again.
New FBH sorted it (thanks TFC!), but I surmise that if a fault code is logged on the car it may not request the FBH to even try starting - maybe another safety feature.... Cheers

thanks gents, fans not running ,sounds more like a fuel pump click.Yes fbh did work prior to this about 3 weeks ago in the last cold snap. Booked into dealers friday2nd,so lets see the outcome. Tried leaving all power plugs out 2hours but did not reset, hence i think fault code lock out. Will let you know the outcome. yes i am a spy from the rrs site!!!!
