I had long conversation this week with a farmer who had Latitude Cross' on his Defender 110. In summary they seem very similar to the Pirelli ATR in performance. However, he's on his third set since the 110 was new and just about to replace them again. The 110 had done 70k miles, so just over 23k miles per set of tyres.
I'd expect to get 50k miles from a set of ATR's, maybe a little more with the 18"s and in the USA they have a 50k miles conditional guarantee. It may well be the Defender is heavier on tyres than the D3/4, bit even so.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I have had excessively long-lived tires and it has always been at the expense of being too hard and as I see it at the end of their life they are not at all safe in their performance on the road.lost in translation!

That’s one of the plus points of the ATR though. I’ve replaced 3 sets at 3mm at approx. 50k miles, with no obvious deterioration in performance or increased noise. As have others here.
I’m waiting to see if the new ATR Plus, available in the USA, will be replacing the ATR in Europe.
Don’t get me wrong Ruben, over 20k miles from the Michelin’s is very good and they’re still on my radar. I’ve just been spoilt by the ATR’s, which are perfect for my mix of on and off road use. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
