1.8% difference,
Spec, Sidewall, Radius, Diameter, Circumference. Revs/Mile, Difference
235/70-17 6.5in 15.0in 30.0in 94.1in 673 0.0%
245/70-17 6.8in 15.3in 30.5in 95.8in 661 1.8%
Whether you will notice a difference or it will affect your speedo I'm not sure.
(Formatting isn't ideal, but you should be able to make it out..)

Well tika243 as JMack says, that size means a very small difference and when I fitted mine I noted that the speedo was MORE accurate when gauged against 2x GPS devices. Side note: changing tyre sizes also affects your fuel usage readings, but again the difference over small distances can be small.
On mine the extra 5 mm sidewall height was difficult to discern when driving (they were a different brand) but since then I also have tried 255/65R17 LT and the speedo reads almost exactly the same as the 245 width tyres.
I would say go with it... LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)
