it is fine to take the finance and then cancel. They should have no comeback on you at all... but like all things - read the small print.

I did exactly this on a Golf I bought a few years ago, got another 2k off the negotiated price (which was the lowest on carwow and drivethedeal) and then cancelled the finance after 7 days.
