As I have written earlier you have my sympathy; you have stated that

I have no time and very little money

that being so I find it interesting that you state that:-

I am off to sunshine and culture, keep your pound sterling and keep moaning, i (sic) will be on the beach.

IMHO you shouldn't spend time enjoying the undoubted culture in Italy, or on the beach, until you have sorted out your finances.

I hope things go better for you in Italy.

So running off to Italy in a couple of weeks and decided to save a bit of money and not to bother paying out for an MOT has cost the OP an insurance claim so he comes on here for advice and ends up venting about his insurance company and it's ownership

This seems to happen on so many forums that an OP can't see his fault and someone else is to blame for all his problems and when the "advice they don't want to hear" is offered they start to become aggressive and obnoxious

I expect he's on LandyZone now calling us all stuck up whatevers.

My poorly maintained 05 HSE is wurff miwwions cos it's an HSE innit.

Lambrini aspirations, appletize budget. Went with the cheapest insurer, ends up surprised that in order to be cheap, their t&cs are tougher than others.

Lost count of the times I've told folk to avoid cheap insurance and to buy on cover and t&cs, but apparently that makes me part of the problem.

And yes, it does sound just like dear McClown Rolling with laughter
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The insurance company took the car to have the engineers assessment done and repair as necessary, they are required to collect car from RAC and do engineers report within 48 hrs, so they are required to have an engineers report completed within 4 days after i call to make a claim,

This company had the car 2 weeks and didnt even look at it, there has been no engineers report done, i was told it was done so i requested the car back and after delivery they told me they had not had time to look at my car yet.

Some bitch on the phone told me i am not allowed to get the car back before an engineers report is complete without forfitting my right to make a claim.

All of the above tactics are illegal and insurance companies have been told not to behave in this way

If you think all these things were done because of no MOT think again as they did not know about the no MOT thing until day 16

Hope you understand now,

Also i forgot to mention the lady from the salvage team told me i had to send her the v5 or they would not be able to do the engineers assessment, also completely bahaving like gangsters trying to get hold of MY car for themselves, they are not having my car, it is mine, not theirs, and trying to put fear into me about losing out on a claim for not handing the car over is completely outragous and this is when i called and made formal complaints about all of this, they said they would never do such things but when i told them i record all conversations they put me through to someone who can log formal complaints and seemed to be the only agent there who had been given any training of how to do their job.

LOOK on the forums search for hastings direct and you will see they are voted the worst insurance company and have done the same thing to everyone trying not to pay out, I also see on the forums some insurance companies just behave normally when it comes to claims and just pay out quickly as to help the customer get back on the road as soon as possible, hastings do the opposite.

I understand that i had no MOT, and that could invalidate my insurance

Thanks for your input so incredibly helpful for me now here in this situation asking for help. Please post more and more helpful comments as i am trying to get as much useful help here as i possibly can before i head off to Italy and leave this backwards narcissistic inbred depressed self satisfied miserable country full of people who are not even happy to be alive or even realize that there is more to life than just picking fault with other people instead of embracing change and bettering themselves by not beleiving they are perfect so as to learn and become better human beings.

I am off to sunshine and culture, keep your pound sterling and keep moaning, i will be on the beach.

I had to look that up. Laughing

Well you didn’t run away like so many, so fair play. Thumbs Up

The UK is not a perfect nation and we know that. You’ll also have seen that from the Brexit thread we are currently quite polarised. However, you may also have realised from our history that if we get poked we unite very quickly and if there is one thing that will bring us together it is being insulted. However, play nicely with us and we’ll be a good and loyal friend, poke us hard enough or enough times and we will bite back hard. Thumbs Up
