first camp in my D3

first trip away in my camper with the family in tow. towed very well even when it all got a bit out of shape (slow down, it's not a race). if I was in the Commodore I would have lost it and probably wouldn't be posting right now. the camper is only 1600kgs and was only really felt under acceleration and did not push the D3 around much if any. trip was about 900kms there and back with the majority on the dirt and some touring inbetween. a few small rocky climbs and all was taken with relative ease, corrugations weren't too much of an issue with the camper on but felt throughout the car when unloaded. softer more supple suspension in these instances would have been better, but all in all relatively relaxing and NVH was quite good. fuel consumption for the trip (taken from the display) was 11.7l/100km with an average speed of almost 40km.

more images in my Gawler Ranges album.

Excellent pics CW, considering it is pouring down here & the thought of a nice warm hols is torture. Good of you to show some pics of the rocks, it's just what a geologist likes to see. Thumbs Up

you'd be in heaven over here then. NVH= Noise Vibration Harshness. basically if it's a nice ride NVH levels are good and is a measure of how much the outside world enters the cab.

my old man used to fossick alot around the Flinders and come home with some weird stuff, including crystalised insects. just nip over and I'll take you for a spin Laughing
here's some more to keep you going Wink
