First day first problem

Well, all started ok with first day of ownership, but has ended with a small but annoying problem.

A small pool of water has appeared in the drivers footwell. (dry weather all day) I am sure someone else had a similar problem, but theirs occured on the passanger side. If my memory serves me right it was the air conditioning overflow pipe not connected properly.

Is this easy for an owner to fix? or is it back to the dealer?

I've done a search for the previous post but without success.

Geoff

If you look at the lower forward edge of the centre console in the footwell, there is a carpeted panel that pulls out. I think the pipe you refer to is behind there.

Where it connects to I don't know. If you are near to the dealer I would return, but if not, then it might be worth a quick look.

How annoying.

I picked up a new one too yesterday and although I am smitten I am being driven mad by a rattle/knocking somewhere around the drivers-side rear passenger seat. Have put the seats up and down to check that all is tightly in place but still cant resolve it.

Any bright ideas?

What a shame that such a great brand just cant iron out niggles before they leave the dealer.....

Justin, I looked under my drivers side rear seat & found a few extra bolts. Maybe they were yours? My dealer is very good, fixed the one little snag I've had very quickly, just called ahead when about to go past & they took it straight round the back, no booking it in or leaving it. That is the only problem (apart from 7 new leather seats due to accessory problem!) I've had with the 2 x D3s.

Dont misunderstand me - I love my D3. I was more excited about picking this up than I have ever been about any other car.

It has so much more character. I just need to smooth out a few niggles.

I am sure if I pass by my dealer they will sort the problem in seconds!

Just cant work out what is knocking where.....! Surprised

GTR says -

Water ingress to footwell (driver or passenger side) or under second row seats (driver or passenger side) - Roof opening panel drain tube not routed through the fender/wing or wheel arch.

or -

A customer may report a concern of the illumination of miscellaneous warning lamps and/or water in footwell.

Cause: Water ingress through the lower slot in the body A-pillar, where the A-pillar exterior trim lower location peg locates.

Thanks for all the comments.

I think it's got to be 'back to the dealer'

You don't spend the best part of 40K & then start pulling trim & carpet about Confused .

I must say though apart from this minor problem, this car is amazing 8)

I seem to remember that there are posts on the RRSPORT forum on this, as a few early models had this problem too.

Discussed problem with the local dealer this morning & agreed that it was more than likley the pipe from the air con unit. He said he had seen a similar problem on Freelander & Range Rover Models but not on D3.

I tried to book in for the work, but was told just to pop in when next in the area as it would only take a few mins to fix Shocked .

I took car in this afternoon & true to his word I was driving back home in about 15mins. Job done Smile No need to wear the wellies now 8)
