Many thanks to you, Gareth, for your written instructions and observations. They proved very useful - especially in deciphering some of the slightly obscure pictures.
I have a couple of things to add:
(1) The green clip under the fuse holder is indeed an absolute pig to remove. I thought that a picture of the back of the clip (that you cannot see) may help other people to figure out what it is they have to do. It's a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea. The middle release clip needs to be compressed. I used a little tool that my local paint supply store gives away to open cans of paint. Like a screwdriver but with a bent end of about 1/4 inch. Did the job nicely.

(2) On the subject of the green clip, getting the little black lead into hole number 13 was a bit of a push. I popped off the clamp that holds the wires in (lever it gently under the edge with a thin blade and it pops up, making it very easy to get the pin of the wire in without stressing it). BEWARE that LR also indicates the WRONG hole on their pictures. If you look carefully, the holes are numbered in tiny text. Make sure you get #13.
(3) The EARTH (ground) connection shows on the LHD model that you run it with the other wire through the dash to the passenger side and then to a earth post on the A pillar. No matter how I tried running the wires, it was just not long enough. On the LHD model, I think you are supposed to take this and earth it on the DRIVER's side A Pillar. However, there is an extra step to get the trim off not shown in the instructions. The footrest for your left foot has to come off. It has a cover that pops off the top and two nuts that will need a socket extenstion. Easy to remove. You'll also need to pop off the bonnet release lever which has a torx screw attaching it.
Anyway, it's all finally installed and I'm taking it to get the darn things turned on in the ECU tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I did it all right !

(The A bar also makes a nice spot to mount my concealed red LEDs which go nicely with the corner mounted strobes front and back).

Looks good, but....
I already have some good lights (IPF900) and a bar with mounts (ARB) that I haven't fitted yet Oh and the LR kit here in Oz is over $1700.
I do like the dash switch though...
And using existing systems might have some appeal...
Does anyone have the part number for the switch?

Wow, I read through those instructions. I'm halfway surprised they didn't toss in a step to remove the rear bumper as well! That is one of the most convoluted installations I have ever seen!

Gareth - Viewed some of your 'gallery' shots. Have just bought new set of 19" HSE wheels. But yours look shiny compared to standard finish. What did you do to them? My D3 is Java Black and shiny will look good. Les

My lights tend to be loose ...cannot be tightened to stay put. Problem is that toothed wheel that tightens the spots to the LR supplied mounts on the bumper. Any suggestions as I am about to can the most expensive rubbish I have bought for some time

I remove the lamp cover tighten from inside hey presto all is well
I've adopted this method on all six i have fitted no probs

Thanx for that. I struggle to get a grip on that toothed wheel ...what do you use to tighten them?

Fitted mine today. Many thanks to Gareth, Rbees, qzdcg and TFC for your help/information/pictures etc.
Bit of a job, isn't it. Got fed up putting bumper on, off, on, off, on etc, etc. Looking good though, and only one screw left over! VERY nerve-wracking drilling the 51 mm holes through the bumper.
A big thank-you to VA for supplying the templates to me. Very useful for the posts. Completely useless for the bumper holes! VA - if you've paid someone to fit them, you've done the right thing!
